• Ensures the implementation of the relevant part of the National Statistical Program through harmonized with European legislation methodological work, organizing and conducting statistical surveys in the field of:

– education statistics - annual exhaustive surveys on activities of the educational institutions (pre-primary education; basic and upper secondary education; vocational training after secondary education; vocational training centers; tertiary education; doctorate programs), and also representative surveys on participation of the population in education and training;

– culture statistics - annual exhaustive surveys on activities of the cultural institutions (museums, theatres, libraries, cinemas; radio and TV broadcast; films production; publishing and printing activities).

– information society statistics – annual representative surveys on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) usage in households and enterprises; investments on ICT in enterprises.

• Carrying out the inter-institutional coordination in the field of education, culture and information society statistics.

• Elaborate, conform and update the legal basis in the field of education, culture and information society statistics in compliance with the Eurostat requirements.

• Prepare and submit data on education, culture and information society.

• Render international exchange of statistical data in the field of education, culture and information society. Coordinate the provision of data from other statistical bodies.

• Prepare analysis, analytical reports, methodological papers, proposals and positions on education, culture and information society statistics for Eurostat and within the NSI’ system.

• Participate in the institutional and inter-institutional working groups on education, culture and information society issues.

• Participate in the Eurostat and other international organizations working groups, task forces, workshops etc. on education, culture and information society statistics.

• Render methodological support to Regional Statistical Offices in the implementation of education, culture and information society surveys.
