• Elaborate new and improve existing methodology in the field of population statistics, demographic events, population projections and gender statistics.

• Conduct statistical surveys included in the National Statistical Program of NSI on population statistics, births, deaths, marriages and divorces, internal and external migration, population projections, gender statistics.

• Provide methodological assistance to other bodies of statistics and government bodies maintaining administrative registers used for statistical purposes.

• Elaborate, conform and update the legal basis in the field of population statistics, demographic events, population projections and gender statistics in compliance with Eurostat requirements.

• Prepare analysis, analytical reports, methodological papers, proposals and positions in the field of population statistics, demographic events, population projections and gender statistics for Eurostat and within the NSI’ system.

• Prepare and submit data on population, demographic events and population projections necessary for the statistical publications, international questionnaires and for the information users’ services.

• Participate in the institutional working groups on population, demographic events, population projections and gender statistics.

• Participate in the Eurostat and other international organizations working groups, task forces, workshops etc. related to demographic statistics.

• Participate in the elaboration and maintenance of registers, classification and nomenclatures as concern the population.

• Responsible of statistical information storage in accordance with the Law on Statistics and Law for protection of the personal data.

• Maintain and update register of population and register of demographic events in NSI.

• Provide methodological support to Regional statistical offices in the processing of the primary documents of demographic events.
