The Department "Short-term Business Statistics" carries out its specific functions and tasks in accordance with the functions and tasks of the "Business Statistics" Directorate, set out in the Rules of the National Statistical Institute.
• Develops and improves the methodology and methods for conducting the short-term business statistics surveys in industry, construction, domestic trade and services, ensuring their compliance with the guidelines and requirements of Eurostat and of the Bulgarian legislation
• Organizes and conducts the statistical surveys on the activities of the of industrial, commercial, construction and business services enterprises in the field of short-term business statistics, which are provided by the National Statistical Program.
• Provides methodological support and assistance to other bodies of statistics and to the public authorities, that support the administrative sources used for statistical purposes in short-term business statistics on industry, trade, construction and services.
• Improves the quality and the reliability of the collected and disseminated short-term business statistics information in the field of industry, trade, construction and services.
• Prepares quality reports on short-term statistics indicators that are part of the Principal European Economic Indicators.
• Prepares and organizes workshops and conducts training projects with international organizations bodies and organizations on short business statistics.
• Maintain the short term indicators time series and participate in the building of database with information on the enterprises from the real sector.
• Data process and prepares the necessary information and calculate the national accounts aggregates for quarterly national accounts in the field of industry, trade, construction and services.
• Participates in the building and updating of the classifications, nomenclatures and registers, which are used in the National Statistical Institute.
• Participates in the international cooperation under the Program of NSI in this area.
• Prepare the informational materials relating to the statistical publications, to the information on the NSI internet site, information services of the public, public bodies and governance, as well as work up the data under the international arrangements for the provision of information.
• Conduct the international exchange of statistical information in the field of short-term business statistics.
• Develop analytical materials concerning the development of the of Short-term business statistics.
