The President of NSI – Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva took part in the first 2010 Regular Partnership Group Meeting, held on 26th March 2010 in Dublin.

The NSI President was elected as a member of the ESS Partnership Group, the mission of which is to support the ESSC activities and develop strategic documents in the field of EC statistics.

Mrs. Kotzeva is one of the four Director Generals (DG) of National Statistical Offices elected by direct vote of all 27 Director Generals for the term of 2 years. The Group meets four times a year.

The participation of Mrs. Kotzeva in the PG work has started in a very important moment when the strategy for development of the European statistics up to 2020 is being elaborated, following the EC 2020 strategy and in the year when the Bulgarian statistics will host the 96th Conference of the Directors General of the National Statistical Institutes of the EU Member States (DGINS), 29.09 – 01.10.2010. During the meeting topics were discussed such as: Community Statistical Programme, 2011; Impact of the financial crisis on statistics; changes in the production of EU statistics; Capacity building project and technical assistance of Greece.
