The National Statistical Institute presents the issued annual bilingual (Bulgarian-English) publication Book-publishing and Press 2010.
The publication contains statistical information on the development of publishing activity in Bulgaria by main indicators for 2010. The data for books and pamphlets are for the first nine months of 2010. Data for other three months of 2010 will be included in the survey in 2011.
Data by some indicators, such as: titles; circulation; average circulation of books, pamphlets, newspapers, magazines and bulletins for the period 1960-2010, are also included. In the publication are applied methodology notes and brief analysis.

Source of the data is National library “St.St. Cyril and Methodius”.
The first part contains data on books and non-periodicals - pamphlets, electronic and printed music publications. Data are published by: issues books and pamphlet by decimal classification and those first issues, original and translation literature, target group, publishers, language, districts. In 2010 the books and pamphlets are not distributed by literary group and are not included by volume (printers’ sheets, a printer’s sheets and printers’ sheets for edition) and retail. Music types - titles and circulation are published the printed music (a score). Electronic publications are issued since 2001, by decimal classification, literature group, purpose and publishing houses.
In the second part are presented the continuing publications - newspapers, magazines, bulletins, periodical collections and others continuing publications (Including: reports, annuals, directories) by: decimal classification, year of establishment, periodicity, districts on titles and circulation.
The titles and the circulation of the books, pamphlets and newspapers are presented in the publication with chart by district.
The publication is available on CD-ROM and is also published on the NSI website.
