The National Statistical Institute presents the issued annual bilingual (Bulgarian-English) publication Book-publishing and Press 2009.
The National Statistical Institute has the pleasure to present of users on statistical information its new electronic publication “Book publishing and Press”.
The publication contains statistical information on the development of publishing activity in Bulgaria by main indicators for 2009. Data by some indicators, such as: titles; circulation; average circulation of books, pamphlets, newspapers, magazines and bulletins for the period 1960-2009, are also included. In the publication are applied methodology notes and brief analysis.
Data are classified into three sections: “Book publishing”, “Continued editions” and “Diagrams”

Source of the data is National library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”.
The first part contains data on non-periodicals - books, pamphlets, digital editions and printed music (a score). Data are published by: issues books and pamphlet by decimal classification and them first issues, literature groups, original and translation literature, target group, price, publishers, language, districts. Music types - titles and circulation are published the printed music (a score). Digital editions are published since 2001, by decimal classification, literature groups, purpose and publishing houses.
In the second part are presented the continued editions - newspapers, magazines, bulletins, periodical collections and other continued editions (of which: reports, accounts, reference books) by: decimal classification, year of establishment, periodicity, districts on titles and circulation.
The titles and the circulation of the books, pamphlets and newspapers are presented in the publication with chart by district.
The publication is available on CD-ROM and is also published on the NSI website.
