The National Statistical Institute presents the publication ‘Transport 2008’, which is issued every five years. For the first time the publication is bilingual (Bulgarian/English).
The specialized publication ‘Transport 2008’ contains data from surveys conducted by NSI, the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, the Ministry of Interior and other information sources. The publication sets out to describe the dynamics of the development in the sector ‘Transport’ for the 2000 – 2008 period, as well the trends and changes in the different type of transport.
The basic data on the status and development of transport in the Republic of Bulgaria is designed thematically by chapters and each chapter contains methodological notes:
- Overview;
- Railway transport;
- Road transport;
- Water transport;
- Air transport;
- Urban electrical transport.
Published data give opportunity for multifaceted analysis of the activity of transport enterprises and to monitor trends in their development. The publication reflects transport’s place and importance for the economy and the society, as well as its impact.
The publication is available on CD-ROM and is also published on the NSI website.
