The President of BNSI Dr. Mariana Kotzeva was a special guest of the Club of Diplomats-Economists in Sofia. At the invitation of the Club, whose members are trade and economic counselors of foreign missions based in Sofia, Dr. Kotzeva presented the express results from 2011Census. She talked about the preparation of the successfully conducted in February 2011 statistical survey, the methodology applied and the uniqueness of the results.

Special attention was paid to the e-Census – a very successful project, done for the first time in Bulgaria, which provoked great interest among people.

The representatives of foreign embassies in Bulgaria asked a number of questions about the common and different characteristics of the censuses in the world and pointed out the public benefits of the statistical data.

The Club of Diplomats-Economists is a forum where discussions are held between the trade and economic advisers to the foreign missions based in Sofia and the Bulgarian politicians and experts actively involved in the economic development of Bulgaria. The club was established in 2002 at the initiative of Ms Pirita Sorsa – representative of Bulgaria at the IMF at that time, and Mr. Ola Svenigson - First Counselor to the Embassy of Sweden.
