The President of the NSI Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will participate in the first meeting for 2011 of the Partnership Group to the ESS Committee
The President of the NSI Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will participate in the first for 2011 and the first under the French Presidency meeting of the Partnership Group to the ESS Committee. It will be held on 25 March 2011 in Paris. Key documents for the development of the European Statistical System will be considered, including the Implementation of ECOFIN Council conclusions, the Proposal for a revised Code of Practice, Progress report from the Sponsorship Group Quality and a discussion on the certification of statistical data from administrative sources. As a result from the discussions held during the meeting of the Partnership Group in December 2010 in Dublin and the meeting of the ESSC in February 2011, Eurostat will submit a new report, outlining a proposal for a comprehensive legislative policy in the field of statistics, including the issue of balance between basic legal acts, delegated and implementing acts.

The participants in the meeting will discuss the results from the survey for determining the Negative priorities in relation to the preparation of the 2012 Work programme. Reports of the Sponsorship Group on standardisation and a Report from the Sponsorship Group Communication will be presented. The topic of the next DGINS which is to be held in September in Germany will also be discussed. It has been agreed that the subject “Space and time in statistics” could be better dealt with at a future DGINS Conference. Instead, a topic connected to the Sofia memorandum and the final report of the Task Force on “Measuring progress, well-being and sustainable development” is proposed to the PG. The participants have to clarify which issues shall be covered under the topics chosen, based on the presented papers. The Hungarian Presidency has prepared a report on its activities until June this year.
