The President of NSI will take part in the 7th Meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC)  
The President of NSI – Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will take part in the 7th Meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC), which will be held on 18 November 2010 in Eurostat, Luxembourg.

According to the agenda, the Committee will take decisions on 7 comitology items – proposals for Commission Regulations as regards labour statistics, healthcare, social protection benefits and accidents at work.

Issues related to the future development of the European Statistical System will also be discussed at the meeting, in particular, strategic priorities for the preparation of the Annual Work Programme 2012, a conceptual framework and work programme for the development of the European statistics on migration and revision of the European System of Accounts (ESA95). The Sponsorship Group Communication, in which Bulgaria takes active part, will present a progress report on activities. The delegation of Germany, being the hosting country of the next DGINS in 2011, is to make a presentation. The Belgian Presidency will overview the progress of the legislative dossiers in the field of statistics within the July – December 2010 period. The Hungarian delegation will present the plan for the next Presidency in statistics (1 January – 30 June 2011).
