Workshop on Quality Assurance in the National Statistical System  
On October 22, 2010, the National Statistical Institute held a final workshop on Quality Assurance in the National Statistical System. The workshop was financed by NSI and Eurostat within the frame of the Grant Agreement No 80201.2009.006-2009.318.).

The NSI Deputy President, Gergana Mihaylova opened the forum, welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance the National Statistical System to provide timely and accurate statistical information, respecting all principles of the European Statistics Code of Practice.

At the workshop were presented the results of the project "Quality Assurance in the NSS”.

The quality self-assessment of statistical information, which was conducted for the first time in the framework of the NSS of Bulgaria in March 2010, was of great interest to participants at the workshop. There were presented also the new quality requirements in the European Statistical System and were outlined the quality assurance activities in the National System in the future.

The workshop was attended by experts from the National Statistical Institute, the Bulgarian National Bank, the National Social Security Institute, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the National Customs Agency, the National Revenue Agency, the Executive Environment Agency, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the National Employment Agency.
