A group of experts from the Ministry of Finance of Tadzhikistan, headed by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Djamshed Nurmahmadovic, visited NSI during its study visit in Bulgaria. The visit was held within the framework of an EC project aiming to provide technical assistance to the recently created Department for Monitoring the State Enterprises, subordinated to the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tadzhikistan.

Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva made a brief overview of NSI role and functions related to the provision of objective, accurate and timely information about the activities of enterprises from all economic sectors in compliance with Eurostat requirements.

Mrs. Diana Yancheva - Director of the Business Statistics Department presented NSI experience on provision of monthly and quarterly (short term) Enterprise statistics about the production, employment and financial situation of the enterprises, as well as on provision of structural (annual) Enterprise statistics on their activities by economic sectors and planning regions.

Mrs. Elka Atanassova – Director of the Macroeconomic Statistics Department covered the topic on National Accounts.

During the meeting main issues were discussed, concerning the forthcoming Population Census, which will be held in Tadzhikistan in September 2010, while in Bulgaria it is planned for March 2011.

The members of the delegation expressed their satisfaction of the given opportunities to study the experience of Bulgaria as a Member State on the topics discussed and estimated the information they received as very important for the outcome of their mission.
