In September 2017, the NSI started work on the project ‘Modernisation of the Harmonised European Time Use Survey’, implemented under the grant agreement with the European Commission № 07141.2017.001-2017.354.

Main project purpose is to test usage of electronic devices for TUS, as well as light diary for TUS purposes.

In October 2018, National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria launches a project ‘Real Estate Indicators’ under European Commission Subsidy Agreement Number 801939-2017/BG/REI.

Within the project, NSI will participate in the following objective ‘Development of the sub-national dimension of the Housing Price Index’.

The general objective of the project is incorporating methodological improvements; improving data collection and production processes and introducing new data sources in area of real estate indicators.

In October 2018, the National Statistical Institute will conduct a pilot study 'Violence against Women and Men'.

The survey is in the framework of the project 'Testing and piloting survey on Gender Based Violence' under a grant agreement with the European Commission № 07143.2017.001-2017.679 (РД-10-20/22.11.2017 г.).

A workshop within the project ‘Improving institutional capacities and fostering cooperation to tackle the impacts of transnational youth migration’ (YOUMIG), which is realized by the Danube Transnational Programme (Interreg - Danube Transnational Programme - ERDF) took place on 30.04.2018 at the National Statistical Institute.

Experts from Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Health, Employment Agency and Institute for Population and Human Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Science participated.

On February 6, at a press conference at the National Statistical Institute (NSI), the results of the project ‘Bringing NSI Information Assets in Accordance with Eurostat Requirements and Migration to HPC’, financed under the Operational Program ‘Good Governance’ were presented.

The press conference was attended by Mr. Sergei Tsvetarsky - President of the NSI, Ms. Diana Yancheva - Deputy President of the NSI, Mr. Yuri Stamenov - Director of Information Systems and Infrastructure Directorate and project manager, as well as team members.

The National Statistical Institute has started working on a project “Improvement of the use of administrative sources (ESS.VIP ADMIN WP6 pilot studies and applications)” in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission No. 07112.2017.007-2017.441.

The main objective of the project is to develop standardised system for referring to geographical coordinates of statistical data from different domains and administrative sources by means of addresses of real estate and based on national registers.

The National Statistical Institute has started a project ‘Statistics on the Information Society 2018’ in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission No. 06163.2017.003-2017.456. The project includes conducting of two separate surveys - ‘Survey on ICT usage in households and by individuals’ and ‘Survey on ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises’.
