Data description
Provided information on national and regional level for:
  • quantities generated, collected, handed over for pre-treatment and landfilled household waste;
  • number of serviced settlements, share of population served and rate of accumulation of domestic waste;
  • the number, area and capacity of landfills where household and construction waste is disposed.

Provided information on national level for quantitie of construction waste disposed on landfills for municipal waste.

Households are the wastes that result from the lives of the people in the homes. They are also treated as waste which, by its nature and composition, is comparable to household waste, with the exception of industrial waste and agricultural and forestry waste.

Construction waste is construction and demolition waste, including soil dug from contaminated sites. Construction waste is identified in Group 17 of the Waste List in accordance with Ordinance No 2 of 23 July 2014 on the classification of waste. Construction waste generated is the sum of landfills received for domestic and construction waste

Domestic waste generated is the sum of the collected household waste, submitted for pre-treatment, recycling and direct disposal (EEA data obtained from annual reports according to Ordinance No. 1 of 04 June 2014 on the order and models under which provides information on waste activities as well as the order of keeping public registers). The data are verified with the NSI data received from the municipal administrations. To this is added the generated waste from households not served by organized waste collection and disposal systems (as a result of statistical evaluation).

The household waste accumulation rate is the amount of household waste generated at national level divided by the average population of the respective year.
Classification system
