NSI won the ‘IT Project of the Year’ award

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) is the winner of the ‘IT Project of the Year’ award in the field of ICT for 2017 Achievement Contest. At the traditional ceremony, Atanas Temelkov, Chairperson of the State e-Government Agency (SEGA), handed the prize to the Vice-President of the NSI Bogdan Bogdanov, PhD, in the ‘Central Administration’ category for the implementation of the ‘Building Macroeconomic statistics Information System - Financial statistics and non-financial national accounts’ project.

‘The public sector has capacity and can achieve results in e-Government with a significant public impact. The achievement of the NSI’s team and its partners deserves high evaluation because it reflects the new approach in thinking about e-Government - the expected benefits of implementing the project are related not only to the specific institution but actually also to the whole public sector and the needs of the business’, commented Atanas Temelkov.

According to the Chairperson of SEGA, the project is a demonstration of the key benefits of any workable solution in the field of e-government - greater workflow efficiency, less time to deliver the service, compatibility of solutions and reliability of results.

The annual competition of the ‘Computerworld’ specialized edition promotes the experience in the development of IT solutions of the institutions and companies in Bulgaria. 25 projects, ranked in 9 categories were registered for participation in the 14th edition of the competition including educational institutions; health and pharmaceuticals; telecommunication and communal services; financial sector and others.
