European Statistical Programme to be discussed at working party meeting in Brussels

On 6 December 2016 the President of the National Statistical Institute Sergey Tsvetarsky will take part in a meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics in Brussels, Belgium, to discuss the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) No 99/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European Statistical Programme 2013 - 2017, by extending it to 2018 - 2020.

The Working Party on Statistics is one of the preparatory bodies of the Council in which representatives from all EU Member States participate. The Working Party is chaired by the Director-General/President of the national statistical institute of the country that holds the rotating presidency of the Council. During the upcoming Bulgarian Presidency of the Council in the first half of 2018, the NSI team led by President Sergey Tsvetarsky will organise the work of the Council Working Party on Statistics.
