NSI to take part in discussions on the European Statistical Programme in Brussels

A meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics will be held on 19 October at which the European Commission will present a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) No 99/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European Statistical Programme 2013 - 2017, by extending it to 2018 - 2020, as well as the accompanying impact assessment.

The Working Party on Statistics is one of the preparatory bodies of the Council of the EU in which representatives of all Member States take part. This working party is chaired by the Director-General/President of the National Statistical Institute of the country that holds the rotating presidency of the Council. During the upcoming Bulgarian Presidency of the Council in the first half of 2018, the NSI team led by President Sergey Tsvetarsky will organise the work of the Council Working Party on Statistics.

The NSI will be represented at the meeting by the Deputy President Diana Yancheva, who is also the Deputy Head of the NSI team for the Bulgarian Presidency, and Senior Legal Advisor Pavel Ivanov.
